GULF Eyewear and motor sports belong together! Design, colouring and choice of material are closely related to the world of motor sports and also with the names of our models we truly stay with the world of racing.

Do you remember the Worls Champion in Formula 1 – James “Jim“ Clark Junior, OBE (* 04th March 1936 in Kilmany, Fife, Schottland; † 7th April 1968 in Hockenheim, Germany)?

Between 1960 and 1968 he started in 72 Grand-Prix-races for Lotus. He won the title twice and in 1965, he was the first race driver from Europe who won the 500 miles of Indianapolis. Clark was characterized by his intuitive, gentle, fast and smooth driving style. Jim Clark is – until today – said to be one of the best Formula-1-pilotes of history and he was advanced to a model for many later world champions, among them Jackie Stewart, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna.

JIM is our homage to this outstanding driver – sunglasses of a classical pilote shape. The ergonomically optimized lens shape is at the same time a fashion statement which cannot be missed in the GULF-Eyewear collection.

The technically sophisticated Carbonfibre temples, myde by our partners in Italy, is the special highlight of this frame. It is very light and can be individually adjusted in the rear area although it is made of real Carbon. The materials and colour inlays on the front and temples as well as the GULF disc-logo demonstrate the close connection to the brand and the affinity to motor sports.
