Manfred Winkelhock (* 06th October 1951 in Waiblingen; † 12th August 1985 in Toronto) – one of the biggest actors in Formula 1 racing. He was one of the most likable and talented German racers at that time. On the Nuerburgring – Nordschleife he survived uninjured a spectacular accident in a Formula 2 race. His car took off on the crest right before the airport route section due to a defective front wing and rolled over backwards (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WarahOS2GJ0). Winkelhock was lucky on that day and thus, was able to participate in a lot of further races. In the season 1982 / 1983, he started for the German Formula 1 team ATS and drew attention to himself with excellent training performances, among others in Monaco.
